British Council International School Award

We are delighted to announce that Frederick Holmes School has successfully met the criteria for the Intermediate level of the British Council International School Award and will be receiving the certificate shortly.

We have developed our International work over the last two years, including all staff and pupils. As part of our work we established a good relationship with our partner school in Pakistan, The Lyceum School, primarily through an exchange with class 10CK who exchanged emails including videos, photos and drawings relating to Islam, Christianity and other topics.

The whole school was involved in Culture Week in the Summer term when each class brought to life a different country through art, drama, music, food and games. We represented the countries of India, Pakistan, Italy, Russia, Africa, USA, Australia, the Caribbean and the USA. In the Autumn term the school celebrated Remembrance Day with a Remembrance themed art gallery in the hall to which pupils and parents were invited. The school met together to observe the two minutes silence and reflect on the occasion.

These are just three events which have contributed to this proud achievement. Well done to all the pupils and staff!
