Occupational Therapy services in school are provided by Humber Foundation NHS Trust.
Paediatric Occupational Therapists work with children to enable them to engage in activities, at home and at school. They are health care professionals and are interested in the ability of the child to carry out activities.
The Occupational Therapists at Frederick Holmes School provide postural management and assess for specialist seating to encourage and enable children to participate in school and classroom activities to the best of their ability. We also provide advice regarding promoting independence with toileting and feeding. Occupational Therapy is different for each child, and every child learns at their own speed. Occupational Therapy involvement may last for a long or short time, this will be reviewed as the child’s needs change.
